The first webinar on November 18th introduced the existing Memorandum of Understanding between Polar Knowledge Canada and the Icelandic Arctic Cooperation Network and highlighted some examples of recent research collaboration. The MoU provides a framework for enhancing future collaboration in scientific research and technological development and the pursuit of opportunities that will lead to the creation of mutually beneficial, collaborative, and multidisciplinary projects in Arctic research.
The themes of the remaining four webinars will be developed in a collaborative process, including requesting feedback from the audience on priority themes, during this first webinar.
Presenters in the first webinar included: Jeannette Menzies, Ambassador of Canada to Iceland, David Hik, Chief Scientist & Executive Director, Programs at Polar Knowledge, Embla Eir Oddsdóttir, Director, Icelandic Arctic Cooperation Network, and Hlynur Guðjónsson, Ambassador of Iceland to Canada. The discussion was moderated by Jeannette Menzies, Ambassador of Canada to Iceland.
